"Colors of Italy" commission

Sara and John Autovino are the cutest couple! They are engaged to be married this September and are designing a fabulous new home. Sara has been looking for a large piece to go above a sectional...and loved my Italian themed poppy painting. With a few changes to the size (they need it bigger!) and to the town (Sicily is where John's family is from originally, so I'm going to paint a Sicilian town instead of Tuscan) they both decided that my "Colors of Italy" would be perfect! It was delightful meeting them. I'm looking forward to painting a fabulous new painting for their new home and brand new life together.

Mission Accomplished!

Jeff and Karla Ogden have been collecting my art for a couple of years. They drove up from Tucson to visit me at the show and pick up a lavender Giclee Karla had ordered for her bedroom. While there, Karla fell in love with my 48 x 48 "Colors of Italy" painting, and asked me if I could paint up a similar piece in a 12 x 12. The only catch was...she needed it by the next morning! She and Jeff were driving back to Tuscon, and wanted to take the painting with them. So, after a short and sweet Valentine's Dinner with my husband, we went back to the show so I could paint. By 3 a.m. the painting was done! I met Karla at her Hotel the next morning with a special delivery. She was delighted!

"American Art Collector"

I recently decided to advertise in American Art Collector. It is a magazine whose goal is focused on keeping collectors informed of what is happening in the art market each month. It contains previews of mainstream artists' upcoming shows at galleries coast to coast as well as authoritative columns by industry insiders like art appraisers, gallery owners, museum curators, art consultants and internationally respected interior designers. This month, the magazine spotlighted Celebration of Fine Art--the show I participate with every Jan. through March...and several of the show's artists did full page ads. Above is the Ad I put together.

"Tuscan Meadow III" Giclée on canvas

In January, I received an email from a woman who was interested in my "Tuscan Meadow III" painting. This is what she said:
Hello! We have seen and love your Tuscan Meadows III piece. I think the original might be out of our price range, so I was wondering the price of the giclée in 36" x 60". We live in Texas, and my husband and I find your artwork beautiful and very unique. I wish I had some artistic talent!

Thanks!
A Giclée is a great way to go, if one is working with a budget! My limited edition prints on canvas are generally about 1/3 the cost of an original painting. We corresponded a few times back and forth, and in one of the emails, she told me that her husband had actually printed off a picture of "Tuscan Meadow" and gave it to her on her birthday. This Giclée was meant to be her 40th birthday present! I was deeply honored.

This was her response when it arrived:
Jennifer,

Just wanted to let you know that we got the giclée and love it!!! It is hanging in our bedroom, and looks like it was made to go there! I will send you a picture in a few days. My husband and I agreed that we need more of your paintings, so we will definitely be collectors.

Thanks again for everything!
